Energous

Energous Corporation is a company that develops wireless charging solutions. Their award-winning WattUp® solution is a technology that supports both contact and longer distance charging. This next-generation technology that Energous offers is an efficient and highly scalable RF-based charging technology. WattUp® offers great improvements over older, first-generation coil-based charging technologies in power, efficiency, foreign device detection, freedom of movement and overall cost for industrial and retail IoT, smart homes, smart cities and medical devices. Energous received the world’s first FCC Part 18 certification for at-a-distance wireless charging and has been awarded more than 200 patents for its WattUp® technology.

Chips & Modules

A range of receivers, transmitters and amplifiers is available from Energous partners. The EN4100 for example is a highly integrated System-on-Chip RF-transmitter IC designed to provide optimal charging of devices equiped with the WattUp® receiver. The EN4100 is the core of the WattUp® transmitter system and is designed to charge devices fitted with WattUp® receivers. This product is a combination of an RF transmitter, power management and an integrated DC-DC supply. In fact the EN4100 offers users a complete WattUp® transmitter system solution. A great application for the EN4100 to be used in are wirelessly charged, low-power, battery-powered IoT devices.

Devices

Energous has developed a variety of so called power bridges and a power bridge. The 1 Watt WattUp PowerBridge for example is especially developed for Energous partner Wiliot. It is a low-profile and lightweight integrated product that is easy to mount and covers a large area. This power bridge “scans” for Wiliot IoT Pixel beacons/tags, intelligently re-broadcasts them to ensure all beacons are captured and passed to a Wiliot Gateway device.

Developer Kits

To enable faster integration of WattUp® Wireless charging technology into product designs Energous offers a range of developer kits. The developer kits are specifically designed for companies that are looking at taking wireless charging to mass production.
