With shipment verification you can reduce costst of mis-shipments, save time with paperwork and improve efficiency.
Things move quickly in a global marketplace. With shipments coming in from around the world, distribution centers and ports need to operate at optimal efficiency to ensure goods get where they’re meant to go. Manual tracking of pallet contents, and inbound and outbound shipments can no longer keep pace with the speed of business. But with the xSpan RAIN RFID monitoring solution, you can.
When combined with the Impinj platform, the xSpan Gateway provides businesses with exceptional inventory visibility, allowing them to improve their operational efficiency and provides better service to their customers.
How it works:
The Impinj platform uses RAIN RFID to automate the task of identifying, locating and authenticating any item by using tiny, low-cost and battery-free tags (usually in the form of a sticker) that can be applied to boxes, totes, pallets, and warehouse assets. These tags are powered and read by Impinj readers and gateways which can be placed almost anywhere, including above dock doors or in warehouse ceilings. As tagged items move through the facility, data about the items is gathered by readers, analyzed and organized by Impinj ItemSense software, and passed to business applications operating the facility. These applications now operate with real-time data, enabling real-time decision making.
With an Impinj solution, goods and assets can be tracked as they move in and out of a facility. By connecting the data about these items with shipping and receiving systems, businesses gain insights that can further automate processes. Impinj solutions deliver real-time visibility, creating confirmation or exception alerts and automating shipping and receiving workflows.
